A Headache Signals a Serious Disorder
Occasionally, patients ask PKC to compare Coupler guidance against advice they received from their healthcare providers. In one serious case, a man complaining of a headache went to a small-town hospital emergency room. The doctor found nothing abnormal and they sent him home. The man's wife monitored his condition and when his headache worsened, she returned to the hospital where he was again released. She decided that his condition was not getting any better and drove him to a larger hospital hours away for more help. By then, the man's serious, undiagnosed condition – encephalitis – had done a great deal of damage. He is now in assisted living. We entered the symptoms given to us from the careful notes kept by the man's wife into the Headache Diagnosis Coupler. Viral encephalitis appears at the top of the option list for "Rapidly Progressing Disorders." The family of this patient is suing the healthcare institution. |
