PKC works closely with partners and customers to create the right solution for myriad healthcare applications. Coupler technology is used in a number of interesting contexts, from hospitals to primary care clinics, health integrators to employers. United States Department of Defense
The Department of Defense has embedded all of PKC's clinical decision support tools into AHLTA, one of the world's largest electronic medical records. AHLTA serves over 9 million DoD beneficiaries and electronically documents 640,000 outpatient encounters a week at over 470 clinics and hospitals. In addition, DoD uses PKC's customized health risk assessments via the Internet to gather standardized health history and wellness information, with the data persisting directly into AHLTA for physician follow-up, documentation, and population health reporting. Using the PKC system in this way leverages the patient to provide structured data that saves the physician time doing data entry to instead focus on diagnosis and problem management plans. The DoD has recognized the value of using different PKC Couplers at different points in a servicemember's career, from a baseline history at accession to yearly wellness questionnaires and pre- and post-deployment screenings and finally at separation and retirement. The sum total creates a longitudinal record of how each servicemember's health changes over time and provides a holistic focus on disease prevention and wellness. Marathon Health
Marathon Health is a leading provider of onsite health delivery and personal health coaching services for employers, helping employers reduce healthcare costs while improving productivity and employee satisfaction. Marathon Health uses custom Couplers to perform health screenings and populate patients' personal health records. In addition to the custom tools, Marathon Health clinicians use many of our standard Couplers to help diagnose patients, manage health issues, and provide patient education. Clarkson University
Couplers are used in Clarkson University's accredited postgraduate Physical Therapy program. The Problem-Based Learning curriculum for Doctorate of Physical Therapy students is designed to foster collaboration, critical thinking and life-long learning skills. Couplers are used in both classroom and clinical settings with patients. The current emphasis is on diagnostic Couplers, with plans to incorporate wellness Couplers to address other aspects of the patient's health. Clarkson University has been using Couplers since 2001.
